MJJ Community - Tablets to Thorplands Primary School

MJJ Community - Tablets to Thorplands Primary School

By Thomas Sinclair

This pandemic has been very hard on many charities ability to raise much needed funds. One of the primary reasons for this is that tight restrictions on social gatherings have forced many fundraising events to be cancelled. At Michael Jones Jeweller, much of the support that we give to our local charities is in the form of us donating luxury raffle prizes for these events, which are now cancelled. We are always looking for other ways to support those in need around us. This January we went into another lockdown forcing schools to close and millions of children having to do home learning. Unfortunately, not all children have the capabilities to access home learning on computers or devices and as a parent of a child at primary school, I understand how vital these devices are for the children to keep up with their peers and continue with their studies. The Michael Jones Jeweller Community were delighted to be able to help provide Thorplands Primary School in Northampton with a donation of 8 new Android Tablets for their children to make use of. Thorplands is a local school and hopefully, these new tablets will benefit the children both now with their home learning and when the children return to their classrooms. The friendly and thankful response that I got when I delivered the tablets makes it all worthwhile.
