At its launch in 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date was the world’s first calendar wristwatch to indicate, in addition to the date, the day of the week, spelt out in full in a window on the dial – a major watchmaking innovation. It is available only in 18 ct gold and 950 platinum.
