Inspired by the 4th generation Speedmaster, this 42 mm Moonwatch in 18K Moonshine™ Gold, has a sun-brushed green PVD "step" dial and "Moonwatch" style hands. The green ceramic bezel ring, with OMEGA Ceragold™ tachymeter scale, features the famous dot over 90.
Fixing the Moonwatch to the wrist is a green leather strap with 18K Moonshine™ Gold buckle. The caseback in polished 18K Moonshine™ Gold has double bevels and the words FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON engraved in black. The Moonwatch is powered by OMEGA's Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 with special luxury finish.
MOONSHINE™ GOLD
OMEGA created the exclusive MoonshineTM Gold, an 18K yellow gold alloy, in 2019. Inspired by the shining moonlight in a dark blue sky, OMEGA's 18K MoonshineTM Gold offers a distinctive paler hue than traditional 18K yellow gold and high resistance to the fading of colour and lustre over time. Its unique composition includes silver, copper and palladium for colour and stability.
SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL
To really appreciate the finer details of a timepiece, OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with a highly scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment. Before the machining and finishing processes take place, the sapphire crystals are produced under the Verneuil process, also called flame fusion. It involves the melting of the raw substance using oxyhydrogen flame and the crystallisation of the melted droplets to form a cylinder. Graded 9 on the Mohs-hardness scale (graded 1-10), the resulting sapphire crystals are virtually scratch-proof and very hard, ensuring an unhindered vision at all times.
